NRA - GUNS - THE 2ND
I like guns. I like to hunt, and I enjoy shooting them. I believe they are necessary for protection and order in our society. That being said, I'm a proud member of the NRA. However, I do not agree with all their ideas, positions, or proposals.
Were I in Congress, I'd propose legislation to ban handguns only in American cities with populations in excess of 60,000 and whose crime statistics bear a disproportionate number of violent crimes. Police need protection in high crime areas. They need the advantage. Those who make a choice to live in large cities know the risks, are aware of the crime rates, and need a sense of security. Besides, the best form of household or business protection is and always will be a 12 gauge shotgun.
